ultimate charcuterie board - featured image

An easy, no-cook appetizer spread featuring a balanced mix of cured meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, nuts, and crackers, finished with honey and fig jam for a sophisticated yet stress-free party centerpiece.

Ingredients

  • Prosciutto di Parma (thin slices)
  • Salami (Hard or Semi-Hard, spicy or classic)
  • Salami or Chorizo Bites
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese (cubed or sliced)
  • Brie or Camembert (whole or wedges)
  • Gouda (Smoked or Aged, cut into sticks or cubes)
  • Crackers (Water, walnut, or seeded crisps)
  • Baguette Slices
  • Fresh Grapes (Red and Green, on the vine)
  • Figs (Fresh or Dried)
  • Apples or Pears (thinly sliced)
  • Nuts (Almonds, Walnuts, or Pecans, toasted)
  • Fig Jam (high-quality)
  • Honey (floral)
  • Olives (Kalamata or Green)

Instructions

  1. Take cheeses out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving to allow them to reach room temperature.
  2. Cut the cheddar and gouda into cubes or thick slices. Leave the brie whole or cut into wedges; optionally score the top in a crosshatch pattern.
  3. Place small bowls on the board for the fig jam, honey, olives, and nuts, scattering them around to create visual interest.
  4. Fold cured meats loosely into rosettes or piles to add height and texture. Place prosciutto and salami in different areas.
  5. Stack crackers in piles or fan them out. Place baguette slices in a cluster or line, leaving gaps between items.
  6. Fill empty spaces with grapes, figs, apples, and pears. Use nuts to fill tiny gaps to ensure the board looks abundant.
  7. Drizzle honey over the cheese or in a small pool on the board. Add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for garnish.

Notes

Let cheese come to room temperature before serving for best flavor. If serving outdoors, keep the board in the shade. Leftovers should be stored separately: meats and cheeses in airtight containers, fruits and crackers in separate containers to prevent sogginess. Do not reheat.
