A visually stunning Halloween punch featuring lime sherbet, cranberry juice, and lemon-lime soda, enhanced with dry ice for a spooky fog effect.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 64 ounces cranberry juice cocktail
  • 64 ounces lemon-lime soda (chilled)
  • 1 gallon lime sherbet
  • 510 pounds food-grade dry ice
  • Handful of fresh blackberries (optional)
  • Several thin slices of lime (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pour cranberry juice and lemon-lime soda into a large punch bowl and stir gently to combine.
  2. Place the punch bowl in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to chill the base.
  3. Just before serving, scoop lime sherbet into the chilled punch bowl, adding it gradually and stirring gently to incorporate without losing carbonation.
  4. Wearing gloves, break dry ice blocks into fist-sized chunks using a hammer inside a plastic bag.
  5. Using insulated tongs, place dry ice chunks into the punch bowl one by one.
  6. Add blackberries and lime slices as garnish.
  7. Monitor the dry ice and add more chunks every 30-45 minutes to maintain the fog effect.
  8. Serve carefully, ensuring guests do not consume the dry ice.

Notes

Never touch dry ice with bare hands as it can cause severe frostbite. Ensure the area is well-ventilated. The dry ice sublimates into carbon dioxide gas. For a dairy-free version, substitute lime sherbet with lime sorbet. The base can be prepared 24 hours in advance, but add sherbet and dry ice just before serving.
