Spooky Witches Brew Halloween Punch: Easy Non-Alcoholic Recipe

Spooky Witches Brew Halloween Punch - featured image

This non-alcoholic Halloween punch is sweet, tart, fizzy, and just creepy enough to impress without being complicated. It’s the kind of drink that makes kids feel like they’re sipping something enchanted and makes adults grateful they don’t have to mix individual cocktails for everyone.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) cranberry juice (100% juice, not cocktail)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) pineapple juice (unsweetened)
  • 4 cups (960 ml) ginger ale (e.g., Canada Dry or Schweppes)
  • 2 cups (about 4 large scoops) lime sherbet
  • 23 frozen ice hands (optional, for spooky effect)
  • 1 cup gummy eyeballs or candy eyes
  • 12 small blocks food-grade dry ice (optional, for fog effect)

Instructions

  1. Make the ice hands the night before: Fill silicone hand molds with water or cranberry juice and freeze for at least 8 hours. Pop out and store in a freezer bag.
  2. Chill all liquids: Refrigerate cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and ginger ale for at least 2 hours before serving.
  3. Freeze the sherbet: About 30 minutes before serving, scoop lime sherbet into a freezer-safe bowl and freeze to keep it from melting too fast.
  4. Mix the juices: In a large punch bowl (3-4 quart capacity), combine 4 cups chilled cranberry juice and 2 cups chilled pineapple juice. Stir gently.
  5. Add the ginger ale: Slowly pour 4 cups chilled ginger ale down the side of the bowl to preserve carbonation. Stir gently once or twice.
  6. Float the sherbet: Using a large spoon, place big scoops of frozen lime sherbet on top of the punch. Do not stir—let it float and melt slowly.
  7. Add creepy elements: Gently place frozen ice hands into the punch so they float. Drop in gummy eyeballs or candy eyes.
  8. Optional dry ice effect: Using gloves and tongs, add small chunks of food-grade dry ice to the punch bowl just before serving. Never put dry ice directly into glasses.
  9. Serve immediately: Ladle into cups, ensuring each serving gets some floating eyeballs and sherbet foam. If using dry ice, wait until fog has fully dissipated before drinking.

Notes

For best results, freeze the sherbet before adding to prevent it from melting into a green sludge. Use frozen ice hands instead of regular ice cubes to avoid diluting the punch. If using dry ice, handle with tongs and gloves, and ensure it has fully dissipated before serving. For a dairy-free version, replace lime sherbet with dairy-free coconut or lime sorbet.
