A quick and easy Halloween snack featuring a creamy ranch cream cheese base topped with a spooky mayonnaise and black sesame seed web, served with fresh crisp vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch salad dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (full fat)
  • 1 tsp black sesame seeds
  • 1 cup baby carrots
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup cucumber slices
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes
  • Optional: Celery sticks or bell pepper strips

Instructions

  1. Cut cream cheese into cubes and microwave on high for 30-45 seconds until soft but not melted. Let sit for 2 minutes to cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, dry ranch seasoning, and sour cream until completely smooth and lump-free.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture onto a small serving plate or shallow bowl into a flat circle about 6-8 inches in diameter.
  4. In a separate small bowl, mix mayonnaise and black sesame seeds until evenly distributed.
  5. Place the mayo mixture into a small ziplock bag with a snipped corner or use a spoon. Starting at the center of the cream cheese, drag lines to the edge to create spokes, then connect them with curved lines to form a web pattern.
  6. Refrigerate the dip for at least 15 minutes to help the web set.
  7. Arrange the prepared vegetables around the edge of the plate or partially on top of the web.
  8. Serve immediately while cold and crisp.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is softened but not melted to avoid a greasy texture. The web pattern looks best when made fresh before serving; the base dip can be made up to 3 days in advance. If dairy-free is needed, use plant-based cream cheese and mayo.
