A quick and easy frozen strawberry margarita recipe perfect for summer, blending tart lime, sweet strawberries, and smooth tequila into a refreshing slushy drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (300 grams) frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup (240 ml) tequila blanco
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons agave syrup or honey
  • 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes (optional if using fresh strawberries)
  • Salt or Tajín for rimming glasses (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glass rims by running a lime wedge around the edges, then dip them into salt or Tajín. Set aside.
  2. Add frozen strawberries, tequila blanco, triple sec, and fresh lime juice to the blender.
  3. Add agave syrup or honey to taste, then add ice cubes if desired for a thicker texture.
  4. Blend on low speed for 15 seconds, then high speed for about 45 seconds until smooth and slushy. Add water or more lime juice if too thick.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more agave syrup or lime juice as needed. Blend briefly again if adjusted.
  6. Serve immediately in prepared glasses, garnished with a fresh strawberry or lime wheel.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries for best icy texture; fresh strawberries require added ice. Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential for brightness. Pulse blender if needed to avoid over-blending. Pre-chill glasses for colder drinks. Salt or Tajín rims add classic flavor. Serve immediately for best texture. Leftovers can be frozen and re-blended.
