A festive and visually stunning veggie pizza designed to look like a Jack-O-Lantern, perfect for Halloween parties or weeknight dinners. It uses a creamy ranch or garlic aioli base, orange and green bell peppers, and a mix of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses for a playful, kid-friendly meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade, room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup ranch dressing or garlic aioli
  • 1 cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large orange bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions or scallions (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats.
  2. Let pizza dough sit on the counter for 10 minutes to relax. Dust counter with flour and stretch or roll dough into a large circle or oval shape.
  3. Spread ranch dressing or garlic aioli over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  4. Slice the orange bell pepper into thin strips. Cut out triangles for eyes and nose, and a jagged strip for the mouth. Arrange these on the pizza to form the face.
  5. Use shredded cheddar cheese to create teeth and optionally the nose. Press gently into the mozzarella to adhere.
  6. Place chopped green bell pepper at the top center of the pizza to form the stem.
  7. Sprinkle dried oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes over the pizza. Drizzle the mixture of olive oil and garlic powder over the crust edges.
  8. Transfer pizza to baking sheet or stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing into wedges and serving warm.

Notes

Use low-moisture mozzarella to prevent a soggy crust. If the dough is cold and snapping back, let it rest longer. For a thicker crust, par-bake the dough for 3 minutes before adding toppings. Avoid overloading with veggies to maintain crispness.
