A creamy, bright, and festive party drink that combines orange juice, vanilla ice cream, and ginger ale for a delicious, nostalgic float effect perfect for Halloween.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 gallon high-quality orange juice (fresh-squeezed or from concentrate)
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream (softened)
  • 12 liters ginger ale or sparkling orange soda
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract (optional)
  • Orange sprinkles or sugar (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the punch bowl in the freezer for 10 minutes or fill with ice water to chill.
  2. Pour the orange juice into the chilled punch bowl. If using fresh juice, strain to remove large pulp.
  3. Let the vanilla ice cream sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes until softened but not melted.
  4. Add the softened vanilla ice cream to the orange juice in chunks. Stir gently until combined into a creamy mixture.
  5. Slowly pour in the ginger ale or sparkling soda to preserve carbonation. Stir gently to incorporate.
  6. Garnish with orange sprinkles and serve immediately in chilled cups.

Notes

Do not over-stir as this kills the carbonation. Serve immediately as the ice cream will melt and soda will go flat. For best results, use full-fat vanilla ice cream and high-quality orange juice. Can be made alcoholic by adding vodka or orange liqueur.
