A fun and festive treat combining crunchy pretzel rods dipped in chocolate and decorated with colorful layers to mimic lightsabers, perfect for kids’ parties and themed celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pretzel rods (classic, sturdy, crunchy)
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 6 ounces white chocolate chips
  • Gel food coloring (blue, green, red, purple, or desired colors)
  • Sprinkles and edible glitter (optional, star-shaped or silver glitter recommended)
  • 12 teaspoons vegetable oil or coconut oil (to thin chocolate)
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat (for setting pretzels)

Instructions

  1. Prep your workspace by laying out parchment paper on a baking sheet or countertop.
  2. Melt 8 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl with 1 teaspoon of vegetable or coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and glossy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Dip each pretzel rod about two-thirds into the melted chocolate, twisting slightly to coat evenly. Let excess drip back into the bowl and place on parchment paper.
  4. Chill the dipped pretzels in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to set the chocolate layer.
  5. Melt 6 ounces of white chocolate chips using the same method, adding oil if needed. Divide melted white chocolate into small bowls and tint with gel food coloring to desired lightsaber colors.
  6. Using a spoon or small brush, drizzle or paint the colored chocolate onto the hardened semi-sweet chocolate layer to create the glowing blade effect. Swirl colors if desired.
  7. While the colored chocolate is still wet, sprinkle edible glitter or star-shaped sprinkles for extra festive flair.
  8. Return the pretzels to the fridge for another 15-20 minutes until fully set and firm.
  9. Let the pretzels come to room temperature for a few minutes before serving for the best texture.

Notes

Use gel food coloring for best chocolate texture. Thin chocolate with oil for smooth coating. Chill between layers to prevent smudging. Warm chocolate gently if it thickens during dipping. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
