These breakfast sliders combine fluffy rolls, melty cheese, and savory ham baked with a buttery garlic glaze for a quick, comforting morning bite. Perfect for busy mornings or casual brunches, they are easy to prepare and loved by all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 soft dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced deli ham (smoked or honey-glazed recommended)
  • 8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese (can mix with Monterey Jack)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the slider rolls horizontally in half with a serrated knife or kitchen shears. Arrange the bottom halves snugly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the ham layer.
  5. Top with the other halves of the slider rolls, pressing gently to compact the layers slightly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the slider buns.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and freshly ground black pepper to prepare the garlic butter glaze.
  8. Brush the garlic butter glaze generously over the top of the sliders.
  9. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese on top is bubbly and slightly golden.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley after removing from the oven.
  12. Let the sliders cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

If cheese isn’t melting evenly, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end but watch closely to avoid burning. Press rolls gently before baking to help layers meld. For dairy-free, substitute butter and cheese with vegan alternatives. For gluten-free, use gluten-free rolls. Variations include adding jalapeño for spice or swapping ham for sautéed vegetables for a vegetarian option.
