These Easy Ham and Cheese Sandwich Roll-Ups are a quick, 5-minute snack made with just ham, cheese, and tortillas. Perfect for busy days, lunchboxes, or after-school emergencies, they’re warm, melty, and endlessly adaptable.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 8 slices deli ham (honey ham or black forest ham recommended)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp cheddar preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened (optional, for toasting)
  • Optional: Dijon mustard, mayo, sliced pickles, or spinach for add-ins

Instructions

  1. Lay out one flour tortilla flat on a cutting board. If the tortilla is stiff, microwave it for about 10 seconds to make it more pliable.
  2. Lay 2 slices of deli ham flat on the tortilla, covering the surface evenly without overlapping too much.
  3. Evenly sprinkle about 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the ham, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Starting from one edge, tightly roll the tortilla into a log shape, keeping the seam on the bottom.
  5. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the roll into 4-6 bite-sized pieces (about 1-inch thick rounds for kids).
  6. For a quick option: microwave the roll-ups on a microwave-safe plate for 20-30 seconds, or until the cheese is melted. For a crispy version: heat a skillet over medium heat, add a little butter, and cook the roll-ups for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown. For a big batch: arrange on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

Warm tortillas first to prevent cracking. Use room temperature cheese for even melting. Don’t overfill to avoid bursting. For a crispy exterior, toast in a skillet with butter. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze uncooked roll-ups for up to 2 months.
