Crispy Air Fryer Pork Chops with Garlic Butter

A quick and easy recipe for juicy, crispy pork chops cooked in the air fryer and finished with a flavorful garlic butter glaze.

  • 4 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Optional: squeeze of lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to help the crust crisp up.
  2. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Let them sit for 5-10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Lightly brush or spray both sides of the pork chops with olive or avocado oil.
  5. Place the pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping.
  6. Cook at 400°F (204°C) for 12-14 minutes, flipping halfway through. Use tongs to turn gently. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  7. While the pork chops cook, mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley in a small bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
  8. Once the pork chops are done, immediately brush the garlic butter over both sides while they’re hot.
  9. Let the pork chops rest for 3-5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

Pat pork chops dry before seasoning to ensure crispiness. Let meat rest after cooking to keep it juicy. If pork chops brown too quickly, reduce air fryer temperature by 10-15°F and increase cooking time slightly. Flipping once halfway through cooking ensures even crust. Garlic butter should be brushed on immediately after cooking while pork is hot. For gluten-free crust, dust with almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs before air frying. Dairy-free butter can be used for a vegan-friendly adaptation.
