A simple, no-cook breakfast made with rolled oats, chia seeds, milk, and mixed berries. This recipe requires only 5 minutes of prep time and results in a creamy, pudding-like texture that is perfect for meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 23 tablespoons Chia Seeds
  • 1 cup Milk (dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
  • 12 tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Mixed Berries (fresh or frozen)
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. In a mason jar or airtight container, combine the rolled oats and chia seeds. Stir to distribute evenly.
  2. Pour in the milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Stir vigorously until the chia seeds are fully dissolved and there are no dry pockets of oats.
  4. Add the mixed berries to the jar.
  5. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight (8-12 hours).
  6. Before eating, stir the mixture well to recombine any separated liquid.
  7. Serve cold straight from the jar, or microwave for 30-60 seconds if preferred warm.

Notes

Do not skip stirring the chia seeds into the milk to prevent clumping. Use old-fashioned rolled oats rather than quick-cooking oats to avoid a mushy texture. Frozen berries work best as they release more juice. If meal prepping for more than two days, keep berries separate until serving to maintain texture.
