  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until smooth and well combined, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly with a spatula.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer. Do not stir.
  5. If using pecans, sprinkle them over the cake mix layer.
