Refreshing Moscow Mule Cocktail Recipe

Moscow Mule cocktail recipe - featured image

A quick and easy Moscow Mule cocktail featuring zesty ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and smooth vodka served ice-cold in a copper mug. Perfect for any occasion, this refreshing drink balances spicy, tart, and smooth flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces vodka (preferably Tito’s or Absolut)
  • 4 to 6 ounces zesty ginger beer (natural, spicy like Fever-Tree or Gosling’s)
  • ½ ounce fresh lime juice (about 15 ml, freshly squeezed)
  • Ice cubes (plenty)
  • Lime wedges (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your copper mug or glass in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Cut a fresh lime in half and squeeze about ½ ounce (15 ml) of juice using a citrus juicer, avoiding seeds.
  3. Fill the chilled mug with plenty of ice cubes, heaping but not spilling.
  4. Pour 2 ounces (60 ml) of vodka over the ice.
  5. Slowly add 4 to 6 ounces (120 to 180 ml) of zesty ginger beer, pouring gently to preserve fizz.
  6. Use a bar spoon to stir gently just enough to combine ingredients without flattening the bubbles.
  7. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and a few fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use natural, spicy ginger beer for best flavor. Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential for brightness. Chill your mug and vodka beforehand to keep the drink refreshingly cold. Stir gently to preserve fizz. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute vodka with sparkling water or ginger ale. Use diet ginger beer for a lower sugar option but expect a slight flavor change.
