A light, fruity, and refreshing summer cocktail featuring fresh peaches, dry white wine, and a subtle hint of peach schnapps. Perfect for casual gatherings and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe peaches, sliced thinly
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) peach schnapps (optional but recommended)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) club soda or sparkling water
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • A handful of fresh mint leaves, lightly bruised
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup (optional, depending on peach sweetness)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Rinse peaches and lemon thoroughly. Slice peaches thinly (about 1/4-inch thick) and remove pits. Thinly slice lemon into rounds, removing seeds. Place both into a large pitcher.
  2. Lightly bruise the mint leaves by gently pressing them between your palms or using the back of a spoon. Toss them into the pitcher with the fruit.
  3. Add the bottle of chilled white wine and the 1/4 cup peach schnapps. Stir gently to combine, avoiding vigorous stirring to keep fruit slices intact.
  4. Taste the mixture. If peaches aren’t very sweet, add 2 tablespoons of simple syrup and stir gently.
  5. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably 3-4 hours, to allow flavors to meld and peaches to soften slightly.
  6. Just before serving, add 1 cup of club soda or sparkling water to the pitcher for fizz. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or directly into glasses.
  7. Pour into chilled glasses, ensuring each serving has a few peach slices and a mint leaf for garnish. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe but firm peaches to avoid mushy fruit and cloudy sangria. Slice fruit thinly for better flavor release and presentation. Chill the sangria for several hours to meld flavors. Add sparkling water and ice just before serving to maintain fizz. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup based on peach ripeness. Mint should be lightly bruised to avoid bitterness. For lower alcohol, replace half the wine with sparkling water. Non-alcoholic version can be made by omitting wine and schnapps and using peach juice with sparkling water.
