Fresh Ants on a Log Snack

fresh ants on a log snack - featured image

A nostalgic, healthy, and easy-to-make snack featuring crisp celery sticks filled with creamy peanut butter and topped with juicy raisins, perfect for kids and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Celery stalks, washed and cut into 4-inch pieces
  • Natural peanut butter, creamy or chunky
  • Raisins (golden raisins optional)
  • Optional add-ons: sunflower seeds, mini chocolate chips, cinnamon sprinkle

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare the celery: rinse under cold water, pat dry, trim leafy ends, and cut into 4-inch pieces.
  2. Spread a generous layer of peanut butter (1 to 2 tablespoons) into the groove of each celery stick.
  3. Place 8-10 raisins along the peanut butter in a single file line to create the classic ‘ants on a log’ look.
  4. Optional: sprinkle sunflower seeds or mini chocolate chips over the peanut butter before adding raisins; add a light dusting of cinnamon if desired.
  5. Arrange the celery sticks on a serving plate or tray and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh, crisp celery for best crunch. Soften peanut butter slightly if too stiff for easy spreading. Rinse raisins in warm water if too dry. Assemble celery and peanut butter up to 4 hours ahead; add raisins just before serving to prevent drying out. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
