A quick and easy pull-apart bread loaded with garlic butter, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for parties and cozy snacks.

  • 1 large round loaf of bread (sourdough or Italian recommended)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for a little heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Using a serrated knife, score the bread about 1-inch apart horizontally and vertically, being careful not to cut through the bottom crust.
  4. Gently pry open each cut and spoon in the garlic butter mixture, then stuff shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese into the cracks evenly.
  5. Wrap the stuffed bread tightly in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet or in a cast-iron skillet.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes to heat through and melt the cheese.
  7. Carefully unwrap the foil and return the bread to the oven for another 5–7 minutes to crisp the crust.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with extra parsley or red pepper flakes if desired.
  9. Serve warm and pull apart to enjoy the melty cheese and buttery bread.

Notes

Let melted butter cool slightly before mixing to avoid soggy bread. Score bread carefully to avoid cutting through the bottom crust. Wrap tightly in foil to keep moisture, then unwrap for crispiness. For a firmer slice, freeze bread for 10 minutes before cutting. Can be made vegan with dairy-free butter and cheese substitutes and gluten-free bread if needed.
