These mint Oreo truffles combine crushed Oreos with cream cheese and a hint of mint extract, coated in smooth melted chocolate for a quick, creamy, and crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Oreos (about 36 cookies), classic or mint
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (60 grams) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon mint extract
  • 12 ounces (340 grams) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or chopped baking chocolate
  • Optional toppings: crushed Oreos, mint leaves, or white chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos in a food processor until fine crumbs, or crush in a sealed bag with a rolling pin for 2-3 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Fold in crushed Oreos and mint extract until evenly combined and thick but spreadable.
  4. Portion mixture with a small scoop or tablespoon and roll into 1-inch balls. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Refrigerate truffle balls for at least 30 minutes until firm.
  6. Melt chocolate in 30-second intervals in microwave or use a double boiler until smooth.
  7. Dip chilled truffles into melted chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, coating completely. Let excess drip off and place back on baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle optional toppings immediately before chocolate sets if desired.
  9. Chill coated truffles in refrigerator for about 1 hour until chocolate hardens.
  10. Serve chilled or at cool room temperature. Store in airtight container in fridge up to 1 week.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for smooth filling. Crush Oreos finely for best texture. Chill truffles well before dipping to prevent melting chocolate. Warm chocolate gently if it thickens during dipping. Optional toppings add texture and decoration. For dairy-free or gluten-free versions, use suitable substitutes.
